Headstock veneer filled and ready for spraying.

Black tinted lacquer over the filled areas followed by 2 heavier coats of clear and a bit of amber over the logo for that extra uber coolness lol.
Will be adding a few more coats then sand smooth and polish.

Latest pic of the top.
The photos make it darker and thus lose how much lighter and faded it is in person and how gradual the burst is, unfortunately.

My 51 P Bass build was finally finished and I have been having a blast playing it.

Redid the burst...wasn't too my liking colour wise.
I faded this one around the arm area however the photo doesn't seem to capture it.
Lacquer is still wet here...looks good in person IMO but photos and bursts just do not play well.

So this sweet Bacchus BLS-59 sold ages ago to a dude on ebay and long story short the neck mysteriously broke off all on its own so I had him send it back and I am in the process of refinishing it and repairing the neck.
Neck was done with hot hide glue and is so secure now I can hold the entire guitar's weight by the headstock with no movement.
Excuse the shitty cell phone pics.

It was stripped of the poly cocoon (which SUCKS doing BTW) this weekend and the backside has had a few coats of tung oil applied.

While that settles and dries off I masked the sides and got started on the top.

Getting this all done in order to be passed onto a cool Canadian cat on the forums. = )
It is both a blast and I am stoked to hear his final opinion.

OK been ages...again.
Put some sweet Mojotone PAF Alnico 4 double creams in the Nav 480.
Match made with these two....awesome awesome pickups, totally sold now on Mojotone's for the price!
My 3rd set, consistently so damn good.

The lacquer is cured nicely on the neck but the body is a tad soft still but not too soft to mount the hardware.
Backside burst was intentionally faded to mimic wear and age along with wear spots as the guitar is 33 years old and should look its age somewhat vs new.
Got some chipping on the 1st 3 tuner holes pushing the bushing in...dammit but meh...its supposed to be worn and played, right?
